Complimentary 1st Birthday Checkup

Sunny Smiles Pediatric Dentistry believes that prevention is better than cure, which is why we are strong advocates of starting your child’s dental visits by their first birthday.

Both the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association say that the first dental visit should occur within six months after the baby’s first tooth appears, but no later than the child’s first birthday.

Baby teeth, also called primary teeth, are just as important as permanent (adult) teeth.  Strong, healthy primary teeth can help your child chew and speak.  They also hold space in the jaws for permanent teeth that are growing under the gums.

Dr. Yashi will gently check your child’s teeth and gums for oral hygiene and she will ensure to check for any potential issues such as stains or decay and provide anticipatory guidance to establish a lifelong journey of healthy teeth.
